Bay Team brags and tales: Trek won an Oscar nomination for his "dying dog" act on Saturday. After hitting the tire really hard he came up 3 legged and screamed so loudly that all of the rings must have stopped to see what was the matter. After getting checked out by several vets, he happily ran the rest of the weekend earning a DAM Q, a GP Semis bye, a Super Q, his 5th Masters Std leg (SAM title) and a pairs leg with Beadle! I did my own demolition derby act taking out a wing in Team Jumpers after losing my balance on a long bumpy straightaway run. Talk about never a dull moment ...
Tahoe and Killy also both got Semis byes, Tahoe took 4th in PSJ finals, Killy got another Jumpers leg and I can't remember what else - it's all a blur!
I'm sure there are lots of brags as there were so many things going on -- not the least of which was seeing Tommi and Berri run a smoking Masters Snooker course!

To Rachelle, Karin and Narae's students,
The rental of the field has become very popular with quite a few of our students. When your class has been cancelled, please make sure to reserve that time if you want to come and work, otherwise it will be available to everyone. The field is even more in demand in the summer when the temps in the day are so warm it makes it a miserable time to rent the facility and work your dog.
It was my fault that I did not make that clear to everyone.
When requesting practice time on the field, please look at the calendar on the web site
http://www.freilancedogsports.com/calendar/month.phpcalendar
E-mail me the day; time and length of practice you would like.
Remember the fee is $5 per half hour and $10/ hour per person. Please sign in that you were here and leave the payment in the mailbox in the agility yard.
Thanks and happy training,
Sharon

To all my students,
I just received an email from Sharon that if you plan to come for practice during your class time on Friday night, you will need to email her, otherwise the times will be up for grabs. Sorry about the miscommunication.

You might check in with "Bring Rover OVer" in Martinez. They have a doggie day care and it is pretty nice. Don't know to much about them though.

I'm looking for a doggie daycare in the Martinez/Pleasant Hill area, and am hoping someone might be able to recommend one. I'd rather go somewhere where I know other people have had good experiences. If you would like to share any ideas or recommendations please email me at joanne.osburn@yahoo.com. Thank you!!

Is there anybody interested in putting on a little agility demonstration for a 9 year olds birthday party in Oakland on Sunday, Aug 24 between 2 and 3ish. She will pay. You could probably do it with a tunnel, poles and a few jumps - maybe a wobble board. E-amil me if you are interested.

Yay! Congratulations Wave and Paula! For those of you who may not know the story - Paula and I were at a fun match at Fiona's, it was hot and Oliver decided to camp out in a tunnel with his toy. When I finally got him to come out he didn't have his toy with him. So I sent him back in the tunnel and out he comes without his toy. After several attempts, we decided we would send Wave in to retrieve it. So Paula sends Wave into the tunnel and out she comes with the toy. Wave couldn't believe her good fortune - tunnels with toys in them!

CONGRATULATIONS Paula & Wave! All that extra focus work is paying off! (And, you never know, someday she might find that toy of Oliver's in the tunnel again!)

Had a good weekend at the AKC trial in Dixon. Wave ran her best ever open jumpers run on Sat. for her 2nd Q. and 1st place. On Sunday she got her 3rd open std. Q for her OA title and even managed to Q in open
FAST despite her obsession with the tunnel.
(I think she's still looking for Oliver's toy)

Oh boy...where did the time go??? Should have had this out sooner...!!! We
are having an agility match next Sunday Aug 24, at Spreckles...grass area
behind Performing Arts Center. We are calling it the chemo series, as I
am trying to pay-off Ajax's Chemo...and Gewn Jones is going thru it with
Molly, and will be getting a portion of the proceeds! Since I am late
getting this out, I will accept day-of entries fro the pre-entry price of
4 runs for $20. Anything less that that will go at day-of pricing. Entry
Form is available on our website:
www.tailswagg.com/chemoseriesagilityfunrun.shtml
Please pass this on to friends and students. Thanks!

Due to several requests, I have decided to have a seminar on "Preparing for your first Agility Trial". The topics will include: Information on the various organizations, registering your dog, how to fill out entry forms, suggestions on what to bring to the trial, what to expect the day of the trial, and more. If you are considering competing with your dog but are feeling overwhelmed by the process, this is the seminar for you! The seminar will be held, Thursday, August 21 from 7:00pm-9:00pm at the Sirius Dog Training site, 4330-A Clayton Rd., in Concord. The cost for the seminar is $40 per person. If you are interested in attending or have any questions, you can email me privately: EducatingRover@astound.net

Cody and I also had lots of fun in Elk Grove this weekend!! We ended up with 8 out of 10 (the best we have done in awhile) We had one blown contact in Standard on Saturday and Sunday we didn't get a very tough gamble. Everyone that attempted it, though didn't get it, so I don't feel too bad about that one. Cody ran like a champ all weekend even with the heat. He was a very good boy and I am very proud of him. His weaves were absoulutely awesome!! Congrats to all the great Freilance runs and I will see you all in October-I can't wait!! Lisa and Cody
