Instructors - Rachelle

Rachelle Carzino has been training dogs professionally since 1989 when she began her career teaching classes for Dr. Ian Dunbar's Sirius Dog Training. During her 27 years with Sirius Dog Training she taught puppy temperament and socialization classes, adult dog obedience classes, tricks, k9 games, and AKC Canine Good Citizen prep classes. In addition, Rachelle has been teaching agility classes at Freilance Dog Sports since 2000 and has been participating in agility competitions since 1999 earning titles in USDAA, AKC, CPE and championships in AKC and CPE with her own dogs.

She is a graduate of San Francisco SPCA'S prestigious Academy for Dog Trainer's earning a Certificate in Counseling (CC) and is one of the first trainers in the United States to become a Certified Professional Dog Trainer. She is also a Certified Evaluator for the AKC Canine Good Citizen testing program and a Certified Mentor for students of Animal Behavior College.

Rachelle's commitment to continuing education reflects her interest in finding and using the best methods available for individual situations and she has received personal instruction from many well known professional dog trainers including Ian Dunbar, John Rogerson, Karen Pryor, Jean Donaldson, Sue Sternberg, Sharon Freilich, Nancy Gyes, and Susan Garrett to name a few. Her philosophy is that training should be FUN for both humans and canines and she uses positive reinforcement and training techniques based on proven scientific studies.

Rachelle's current partners are Kim, her husband of 32 years, C-ATCH, MACH Missile, a retired 14 year old Border Collie, Destiny, a 3 1/2 year old Border Collie, competing at the masters level of agility in AKC, and advanced level of agility in USDAA, and Zippity Doodah, a 16 month old Border Collie currently in training for agility who should begin competing in 2017.
