Winston had a great weekend at the AKC trial in Pleasanton with QQs on both Sat. & Sun. On Sunday, he brought home the blue ribbon in Std. which was quite a surprise, the other little dogs all seemed to blow it, to our good fortune!
It was a huge trial but always fun with Qs!

Anyone in Thursday night class knows how Loki and I have been working the contacts. Well, I was unsure how it would go this weekend, but to my delight, he did every single contact perfectly! He earned his Ex A title with a 2nd, 10 seconds under time. I’m quite happy with his performance – even in the runs we did not Q, he did exactly what I asked him to do, whether or not it was what I actually intended! Shannon and Loki

Well we are back from Madera -Saturday the wind started and never stopped - yuck! I would rather have rain then wind all day long, but on Sunday it was a beautiful day. Cirque and Thyme did well -Rip earned another Gambler, pairs and JUMPERS towards his Platinum ADCh (he now needs 8 jumpers toward Platinum he is just about there in the other games)Yeah RIPER!!!!!!

Yeah for another fun CPE trail at the WAG facility by Fun Paws. I feel like I finally have my dog back. Jake went 3 for 3 in the standard runs with 2 first places! IT has been a long time coming.. and he got 3 other Q's. Most of the issues were handler issues with the games getting lost oh and the dreadful pee on the weave poles.. again handler error. Baby Piper got 5 Qs including a standard! (yes sharon no weaves or teeter yet level 1)

The Clean Run store now has "ready jumps" which are fold up jumps that are all in one piece. After years of dropping parts on the ground, losing pieces of jumps, I decided that I would buy two of these jumps. They are $60 each. A friend is going to buy two, If anyone is interested in purchasing some of these jumps, please contact me. (925-200-2227). If we buy 12 or more the price goes down to $50 per jump. . so if you are interested in these light weight jumps to take to the park/trials, etc and want to order. Give me a call.
I figure I can then finally throw away the ones I made 10 years ago.

I watched (in utter astonishment) as Wick CROSSED IN FRONT OF DAWN (no handler error here) to take the dogwalk. And then took it again. And soon after, CROSSED IN FRONT OF HER AGAIN to take the A-Frame.

I said to myself "someone's been doing a lot of rewarding on contacts".

It must have been contact theme day for the FRUNCHIES. Wave, who Q'd in both Novice runs on Saturday, decided she really didn't like the teeter all that much on Sunday. She got a refusal or two and when asked (again) to take it, she swung her butt around, backed on to the board, and offered a perfect contact. Pretty smart dog. Scary in fact.

For anyone else, these are not brags, but for us they were great. Buffy Q'ed in 3 of her runs this weekend. Wick ran clean in standard on Saturday, came in 19 seconds under time, got 1st in Open and his Open Standard title. (If you saw his standard run on Sunday, you would say that isn't possible. Sunday's run included 3 dogwalks and 1-1/4 A Frames!)

URGENT!!! There is a mother Australian Shepherd with her 4 puppies (2 days old)in a shelter that need to be fostered ASAP or they will be euthanized. The Aussie Rescue group that would normally take them is full and has no fosters available. All medical expenses and food will be paid by rescue group and they will also place them when they are old enough. We also had a great time at Fun Paws in Elk Grove and saw many Freilancers running superb runs.
Lucky continues to amaze me with her second puppyhood antics and Q'd 8 out of 8 runs! She is now officially 5 points (out of 5000) from her C-ATE so we are cautiously optimistic that will happen at Thanksgiving.
Chewie also had a great weekend Qing 9 out 10 runs(his only missed run involved some wierd ring behavior which I found out later invloved a need to use the potty area...bad)

Cody and I had a great time at the Fun Paws trial in Elk Grove this weekend. It sure was nice to be back to trialing after 2 months off. We had alot of issues with contacts (as in "what does contact mean, mom?"), but all in all it was a good weekend. And Karin, I didn't babysit the weave poles. I actually gave him his space and trusted him and he was a weaving fool! Not one missed entry or pop out. What a triumph! We ended up with 6 out of 10 Q's and lots more fun memories.
