Had a wonderful 2 days in Eureka trialing at the CPE HUMDOG annual event. Weather was in the 50s and the dogs loved it. AND...drum roll please...against all odds Lucky took High in Trial for Friday. Old girls rule!

Friday night class - just wanted to let you know that Linus and I won't be in class tonight. He's been quite sick this week, and, while he's doing a lot better, the vet and I feel that the excitement and manure consumption could upset the delicate balance his stomach has managed to establish. I'm hoping we'll be back next week. Have fun!

and Sunday, Aug 22, 2010 in North Highlands, near Sacramento.

Saturday, Aug 21: Nested Standard Course (USDAA Contacts, 24" weave poles)
Sunday, Aug 22: Nested JWW Courses, 24" weave poles

* Sign up for a specific hour; maximum 6 dogs per hour. See
attached flyer for specific time slots
* Cost: $8 per run; $30 per handler/dog for unlimited runs (should
easily get 6 per hour)
* 75 second course time per turn
* Group Discount: $150 for an hour for a group singing up together;
unlimited runs. You can exceed 6 dogs in your group if you
choose--its your hour.


Initial walk through occurs before the hour begins.

Update on Fletch for our Friday nite class: Biopsies were both benign. Hopefully he will be back and running in a few weeks.

I have a very nice metal crate, size 200 for sale, $10...email me if interested.

Spent 3 days of the last two weekends in Elk Grove at cPE. We lucked out on the weather and Chewie Qd 12 for 12 and Lucky Qd 9 for 10 (2 seconds too slow on a jumpers run at the very end of the day). I am amazed at the level of accuracy even after we took all of July and most of June off.

Rachelle -Woooo Hoooooo! What great news! Way to go! On another note, Maxie & I may be in class on Friday but Fletch will definitely note. He just had surgery and, while doing well for the day after, he won't be up to agility for awhile. If you don't see us on Friday, we will be home trying to keep him quiet.

Missile and I had a great weekend in Dixon coming home with a double Q and a triple Q and a perfect A-Frame in every run!! Whooo Hoo!

Hooray!!!Apache is back. He is now Champion Riverun Apache Thunder! After all the time that I have been going to Sharon's and attending everyone else's parties I have a reason to throw my own. Tonight parteeeeeeeeee

What fun was had up in Ferndale at the Lost Coast Agility Trial! It is my favorite place to go. My 5th year there and Tango's not-quite-ready-for-prime time debut. First was JWW and boy was I worried when I set him up and his only focus was on sniffing in front of the first jump. Oh well, I let go and as soon as he looked up, off we went and the transformation to Tango, agility dog, occurred. He ran beautifully, right into the weave poles, into & out of the tunnel, then over several more jumps to finish and... he did it!!! Yes, Tango the wild man not only Q-ed but got 2nd place. OMG! I was beyond stunned. Was that really Tango running out there with me...

Due to judge's delayed arrival, I wasn't even going to run the FAST course that day but thanks to Sue Cone's encouragement, we went for it, pushing 6:00 pm that afternoon by the time we finished. It was a tunnel to tunnel bonus to start and then only a few more obstacles to make our points, race to the finish and OMG for the second time on Sat, darn if he didn't Q again!! As for Sunday, well, I don't know how much of the English language Tango understands but he obviously heard me say, "I don't really care what happens today since it went so well on Sat," and took it very literally. The devil in him returned and he was an unfocused goofball but... in the FAST course, he actually self corrected at his WP entry to enter correctly so that was pretty impressive to see. The rest of FAST and JWW, well, let's just focus on his great day Saturday! LOL

Congrats to Buffy on her great weekend and little Peggy Sue and FP! There were lots of Freilancers with brags, wild stories, or both. We missed Sharon this year though.

I just got back from taking all the things we donated to the Antioch shelter. It filled the back of my pick-up up!!!! They were so thankful to you guys. They are a kill shelter but when they find dogs with good temperaments they hold onto them for months! I couldn't resist to go in and see what they had. Of course they had a couple of pits, one red and white bitch, Princess, is about 3 years old, jumped the fence 3 times and the last time the owner wouldn't go back and pick her up. He cut off her ears, looks like maybe she was fought as there are some scares on her face and of course she's had a least one litter. She is very sweet and stable around other dogs. She is 18-19" and must weigh 40+ lbs. Anyway, if you know of anyone looking for a nice house dog, I think that she would fit the bill...good thing that I am leaving in a few days...
