Private instruction is held most weekday mornings and afternoons.
Freilance Dog Sports classes are set up with the thought that
you will be competing one day. If your goal is not to compete
but to come out, have fun and build a better relationship with
your dog, you will do that while learning to do the obstacles
safely and correctly. However, you will need to work with your
dog during the week so that you do not fall behind the class.
The Beginning session I will spend time working on play drive,
introducing the clicker and obedience in the context of agility.
Your dog should already come when called, sit, down and stay
on command. My main goal is to start building a team relationship
with you and your dog. In the Beginning class all obstacles
and handling are broken down so that you and your dog can build
on the small successes. I will introduce some of the obstacles
in the first 6 week session.
In the intermediate and advanced classes we will improve obstacle
performance and concentrate on handling. This is an on going
process and you and the others in the class will typically
move together developing your skills as the class progresses.
Many of our students are now competing at the highest levels
in AKC, USDAA and NADAC, earning championships along the way.
We hold the classes outdoors under lights year round. We will
cancel due to weather or mud occasionally through the winter.
If you are unsure as to whether classes will be held due to
rain, mud or excessive heat, please check the Message Board or
call and check my voice mail a few hours before class where
class availability will be posted. My number is (925) 229-8041.
